Basics of the Report Painter / Report Writer

Schedule: 22 - 23 June 2009

This 2 days course provides an overview of the basic functions of the Report Painter & Report Writer. As a start, participants wil learn about the relationship between individual Report Writer components & learn to create a library & define a report with variables & permanent selection criteria, in addition to creating row & column templates.

Participants will also learn how to structure a report & perform calculations in a report, as well as using standard layouts & formatting functions. In addition, participants are taught how to transport & assign report groups, and using basic sets & single-dimension sets in a report definition.

Advanced Functions of the Report Writer

Schedule: 24 - 26 June 2009

This 3 days course provides an overview of the advanced functions of the Report Writer. To begin with, participants will learn about the main differences between the Report Writer & the Report Painter. Next, participants are taught how to create sets & variables & use them in reports, after which, how to compile a report & determine optimal levels of detail in a report.

Participants will also learn how to apply layout options to a report & structure a report using sections, row blocks & column blocks. Thereby, perform calculations within a report using row formulae, cells & key figure blocks. Finally, participants learn how to create a key figure & use it in a report.
