Hello
everyone!
We wish all a belated
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival, a Happy Deepavali, and a Selamat Hari Raya Puasa!
It's a month of festive celebrations! More
importantly, these
occasions
offer us the opportunities to strengthen family and social relationship as
well as to renew our Hope for better Life!
·
In Chinese
tradition, family members try to get together on Mid-Autumn (hence also
known as “Festival of Reunion”), and those who cannot return home will watch
the moonlight (usually appears bigger and brighter than other time of the
year) and feel deep longing for their loved ones.
·
“Hari Raya Puasa”
(or “Hari Raya Aidilfitri”, also known as “Eid ul-Fitr” in other parts of
the world), which marks the end of “Ramadan” – the month of fasting by the
Muslim – is a joyful celebration of the achievement of enhanced piety. It is
a day of forgiveness, moral victory and peace, of congregation, fellowship,
brotherhood and unity.
·
For the Hindus,
Sikhs and Jains, “Deepavali” (also known as “Diwali” or “Festival of
Lights”) symbolizes the victory of good over evil (or brightness over
darkness) and sharing of joys with the loved ones.
