Time really flies! It seems to be only a moment ago when we were talking about the coming World Cup. But as we are giving a final touch-up to this edition of our eNewsletter, it has already gone into the Semi-Final and the new Champion will be emerged in just a matter of days.

 

Putting a side whether our favorite team will be the ultimate winner, we are sure that many of you have been thrilled by the great matches being played so far. While engrossed in the soccer matches, please do not forget to plan your SAP training for Quarter 3. Our course schedule has courses lined up till October 2006. SAP Technology Courses

 

 

 

SAP Enterprise Portal *NEW

 

As introduced in our last eNewsletter, SAP EP (Enterprise Portal) enables a standardized, personalized, and role-based user access to a heterogeneous IT-environment – Information from SAP and non-SAP-applications, data warehouses, and desktop documents as well as internal and external Web content and Web services can be consolidated centrally on one standard platform.

 

To help SAP customers in learning to yield further benefits from SAP EP, we have scheduled the following courses for your participation:

 

>> SAPEP SAP Enterprise Portal Fundamentals

 

This two-day course is designed to provide an overview of the SAP Enterprise Portal structuring and all its core functions.

 

The topics covered include technical infrastructure and security of the SAP Enterprise Portal; describe basic Portal Platform content and the use and purpose of Knowledge Management and Collaboration.

 

>> EP200 SAP Enterprise Portal System Administration

 

This course is designed for system administrators who are interested in the technical side of SAP Enterprise Portal.

 

This course will prepare SAP Enterprise Portal administrators to operate SAP Enterprise Portal, such as integrating enterprise applications, managing users, perform monitoring operation and define backup strategies.

 

>> EP300 Configuration of Knowledge Management and Collaboration

 

This course is designed for Netweaver Consultants who are interested in the Knowledge Management and Collaboration function of SAP Enterprise Portal.

 

The topics include functions for content management, search and classification using TREX, and collaboration services e.g.; collaboration room and Real-Time Collaboration.

 

 

Business Programming (ABAP)

 

>> BC412 ABAP Dialogs Programming using EnjoySAP Controls

 

It is likely that you may encounter a situation where your SAP system needs a little tweak in order to fully satisfy the solutions that your company requires. This is where you, as an ABAP Consultant, can leverage on your programming skills to create value-add for your company by, for example, developing SAP screens.

 

Typically, SAP users want to see their screens and control as similar to SAP standards as possible. This course teaches you how to create these Screens and Controls as per SAP standards. BC412 is meant for ABAP Consultants who are responsible for creating user dialogs containing EnjoySAP Controls.

 

Some of the topics covered in this course are:  Functions and use of Control framework link, HTML Control, Picture Control, Tree Control and ALV Grid Control.

 

It is essential to have working experience of Dialog Programming and the pre-requisites are knowledge of object-oriented programming, BC400 and BC410.

 

>> BC490 ABAP Performance Tuning

 

This course is designed for experienced ABAP Programmers who have fundamental technology knowledge of SAP NetWeaver.

 

The training includes a performance optimization project to enable trainees to put theory into practice. At the end of the course, trainees should be able to systematically analyze ABAP performance problems, analyze individual objects and SAP system, as well as to optimize poorly performing database accesses and ABAP processing.  

 

 

SAP Web Application Server

 

>> ADM100 SAP Web AS Administration I

ADM100 will prepare you to carry out basic administrative tasks. This course is designed for SAP systems administrators, technology consultants, IT managers and people involved in SAP system administration.

 

Some of the topics covered in ADM100 includes means of system configuration, online documentation configuration, configuration of periodic automated tasks involving the database, transport functions, scheduling tasks in the background, definition and integration of printers, setting up and maintaining users, using role maintenance to assign authorizations, basic tasks concerning user management, fundamentals of system security, working with system monitors, basics of SAP Data Archiving, structured error searches and using SAP Solution Manager.

 

Pre-requisites are SAPTEC and working knowledge of at least one operating system and one database system.

 

 

Business Integration Technology - IDoc

 

>> BIT300 Application Link Enabling (ALE) Technology

 

This 3-day course is targeted at project team members and consultants who wish to learn about the concept of IDoc processing and the configuration of ALE scenarios. This course teaches students how to implement predefined SAP ALE business scenarios in a distributed system landscape. It also includes details of how to map the customer/supplier relationship (EDI) using EDI scenarios. The capabilities and limitations of ALE would also be studied here.

 

 

User & Security

 

>> WSGTAS mySAP Security Academy

 

This course provides crucial knowledge on the application of elements, strategies and tools of SAP authorization, and the setting up of various security features (e.g. Encryption, single sign-on, trusted relationship...etc) in the SAP systems. Other contents include the use of the SAP Audit Information System to conduct a thorough system security audit, as well as the configuration of security monitoring and tracing mechanisms. Topics on how to secure change management and system administration mechanisms, raising awareness for security, and improving security in a mySAP.com environment are also covered. The training will lead to a certification test for "Certified SAP Security Consultant".
