Goals
- Course participants gain a detailed understanding of how tasks lists are created in SAP SCM (APO) based on aggregated historical data. Participants learn how to generate task lists using different forecasting techniques and can include market information about promotions in the demand plan. The results of Demand Planning can be used as a basis for Supply Network Planning and Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling.

- This course is intended for project team members and key users (from the user departments) who are responsible for creating task lists based on aggregated historical data.

Content
- Overview of the planning concepts and data structures
- Transfer aggregated historical data to the internal APO BW system
- Define the planning levels for creating aggregated plans
- Generate master data (characteristics combinations and proportional factors)
- Configure Demand Planning using planning areas, planning object structures, planning books and macros
- Generate your own exception messages (alerts) using macros
- Cooperative Demand Planning (exchanging data between the customer and manufacturer over the Internet)
- Demand Planning with statistical forecasting, causal analysis and combined forecasts
- Mass processing planning tasks in the background
- Release the results of Demand Planning as a planned independent demand
