Course Goals

  • The participants learn to plan and implement upgrades for SAP systems. This is done using an upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0 (7.00/6.0/6.00, mySAP ERP 2005)

  • Reasons for an upgrade, planning upgrades
  • Preliminary and subsequent work
  • Upgrade tools (PREPARE, upgrade assistant etc.)
  • PREPARE and upgrade phases
  • DDIC behavior during the upgrade
  • Integrating support packages and add-ons
  • Making modifications (SPDD and SPAU)
  • Minmizing system downtime during the upgrade
  • Customer-specific upgrades
  • Troubleshooting and upgrade service and support

Notes

  • This course focuses on planning and executing an SAP ECC upgrade from SAP R/3 4.6C to SAP ECC 6.0 (7.00/6.0/6.00). It therefore covers SAP R/3 Releases SAP R/3 3.1I to SAP R/3 4.6C, SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 (6.20/4.7/1.10, and 6.20/4.7/2.00) and ECC 5.0 (6.40/5.0/5.00). The upgrade can be transferred to other SAP systems with SAP Web AS ABAP 6.x and SAP NW AS ABAP 7.x. Common errors have been built into the training system. The participants should find and remove these errors when they perform the upgrade. The training servers run on the Windows 2003 operating system, the database is MaxDB 7.6. Focus is placed neither on the operating system nor on the database, but on upgrading the SAP system. The course material is available in English only.
